Falls are the
leading cause of worker fatalities. Each year, on
average, between 150 and 200 workers are killed and more
than 100,000 are injured as a result of workplace falls.
Before you can begin a fall protection program, you must
identify the potential fall hazards in the workplace.
Fall protection must be provided at four feet in
general industry and six feet in construction.
This month’s safety topic addresses fall protection. The
information and tools found on these pages will assist
you in preventing falls in the workplace.
